Stabilization of Earth Block Using Rice Husk Ash as Partial Replacement in Cement

نویسندگان

چکیده

The most outstanding problem militating the production of earth block in Nigeria, is exorbitant prices cement, rice ash replaced with stabilized compressed to carry load. main objective this study was investigate sustainability earthen construction a partial replacement cement using Rice Husk Ash (RHA). RHA bye-product material obtained from combustion husk which consists non-crystalline silicon dioxide high specific surface area and pozzolanic reactivity set sieves 3.35um - 63um, weigh balance, oven maintained at temperature 105°C 110°C, six meta trays, bucket, soap, wire brushes, mechanical shaker. It used as block. Testing specimen were determined examine structural composition by means unconfined compressive strength hydraulically for crushing mix content ranges 10% 50% respectively. result shows significant resistance shear 30 90 kg/mm2, proving that can satisfactorily load when structurally loaded resist tensile stresses.

Bagasse ash and rice husk ash as cement replacement in self-compacting concrete

In studies conducted to determine the workability of concrete, the bagasse ash and rice husk ash were added as a partial replacement for cement. Trial mixes with the varying water cement ratio, replacement percentage, quantity of super plasticizer and viscosity modifying agent, were prepared and tested. The results were used as the basis for defining three optimum cement replacement mix proport...

Stabilization/solidification of lead-contaminated soil using cement and rice husk ash.

This paper presents the findings of a study on solidification/stabilization (S/S) of lead-contaminated soil using ordinary Portland cement (OPC) and rice husk ash (RHA). The effects of varying lead concentrations (in the form of nitrates) in soil samples on the physical properties of their stabilized forms, namely unconfined compressive strength (UCS), setting times of early mixtures and change...
